With so much uncertainty regarding coronavirus we get a lot of guests asking: “What are your hotel’s covid cleaning guidelines?” How hotels are changing their cleaning practices in light of coronavirus is a huge question that any hotel or their employees should easily be able to answer when asked by a guest. At the Inn at Boatworks we have always aimed to be the cleanest hotel in town and that is no exception during covid.

Hotel Cleaning Standards for the Inn

Even for regular cleaning we have checklists that both our engineers and housekeepers follow to ensure your stay is perfect. Our maintenance checklist covers 29 functional items in the room to make sure everything is working properly. This list also includes checking things such as filters in the ventilation units and sanitary functions in the room including free-flowing drains.

Our housekeeping check list focuses on 42 items some of which include:

  • Disinfecting exterior door handles with bleach

  • Cleaning mini blinds

  • Sanitizing remote controls

  • Wiping down hard surfaces with bleach

  • Regular carpet shampooing

  • Scrubbing filters and vents

These cleaning procedures were reevaluated during the height of covid to more thoroughly address several items that we felt were important aspects of covid cleaning.

Finally, our hotel manager conducts a final inspection prior to your arrival to double check both maintenance and housekeeping items. We use this triple check system to make sure that everything is perfect for your arrival. Our goal is that when you walk in you feel as safe as you would in your own home.
